Serbia: media, govt plans 250 mn loans for National stadium
Country aims at hosting Euro 2028 with Bulgaria, Romania, Greece
28 November, 15:28"The new budget envisages the construction of a national stadium," Serbian Finance minister Sinisa Mali confirmed. "UEFA architects are still working on a conceptual solution, they are looking at the necessary infrastructure and the capacity of the stadium. We expect this to take two or three months," Mali added in a statement.
During a recent meeting between the Prime ministers of Greece, Bulgaria and Romania and the Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic, the four countries expressed interest to submit a joint bid for both the football Euro 2028 championship and for the World Cup 2030.
More loans from the EIB, the draft budget shows, will be used in 2019 for the construction of Nis-Merdare motorway and the for a gas interconnector to Bulgaria. (ANSA).
