Greece: Rhodes waste management plan approved
Budgeted at 44 mln euros, up to 18,5 mln of EU funds
15 November, 13:36The project is budgeted at 44 million euros and will use up to 18.5 million euros in European Union funding, along with private resources. The Committee met under Deputy Premier and Economy & Development Minister Yannis Dragasakis. A ministry announcement said the project included the study, construction, maintenance and operation of the waste plant of Rhodes. It will include the extension of the sanitary landfill in northern Rhodes and a plant to process mixed sewage sludge.
One of the priorities of the facilities will be a high rate of recycling of waste and the reduction in materials allocated to the landfill, Ana-Mpa also reported. (ANSA).
