Germany: drop in exports,GDP down 0.1% in the second quarter

(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 27 - The fall in exports is pushing Germany's GDP down in the second quarter. According to data from the federal statistics office, GDP fell by 0.1%, in the final estimate, due to the 1.3% drop in exports. Data thus confirm the preliminary mid-August estimate. GDP grew by 0.4% year on year, and the fall in exports was equal to 0.8%, the greatest drop in the last six years. On the other hand, the domestic market is doing better in terms of household consumption (up 0.1%) and public spending (up 0.5%). (ANSA).
