Germany: Bundesbank cuts GDP forecasts to 1.5% for 2018

2% was predicted in June. Growth at 1.6% for 2019

(ANSA) - BERLIN, DEC 14 - Germany's Bundesbank has revised downwards growth forecasts for Germany for the current year and for 2019: in 2018 the GDP will grow only by 1.5% (compared to 2% predicted six months ago). Whereas for 2019 and 2020 BUBA is now talking about a growth of 1.6%, (against 1.9% expected in June for 2019).

Even the economic institutes have revised downard Germany's growth estimates, and among these the Ifo stood out, predicting a particularly pessimistic scenario: according to the Munich economists, the GDP in 2018 will grow by 1.5%, in 2019 only by 1.1% (-0.8 compared to the autumn estimates). In 2017 the German GDP grew by 2.2%. No observer, however, has seen signs of a possible recession in sight. (ANSA).
