Germany: industrial orders up in August, +2%
Strong foreign demand, but -2.1% compared to one year ago

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 05 OTT - Factory orders in Germany rose
in August after two months of decline, the German federal
statistical institute (Destatis) said today.
New orders in manufacturing had increased in August 2018 a seasonally and calendar adjusted 2.0% on the previous month.
Previous data from Destatis show that new orders declined by 0.9% in July 2018 and by 3.9% in June. However, orders are still down 2.1% on the same month a year earlier.
Domestic orders decreased by 2.9% and foreign orders increased by 5.8% in August 2018 on the previous month, Destatis noted, adding that new orders from the euro area were down 2.2%, while new orders from other countries were up 11.1% compared to July 2018. (ANSA).
