Unemployment: in Croatia one of largest decreases in the EU

From 10,9% to 8.5%. Lowest rates in Czech Rep, Germany, Poland

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 2 - Croatia, from 10.9% in August 2017 to 8.5% in August 2018, is among the four European Union countries that registered the largest decrease in unemployment in the EU year-on-year, Eurostat said. The other three are Cyprus (from 10.5% to 7.5%), Greece (from 21.3% to 19.1% between June 2017 and June 2018) and Portugal (from 8.8% to 6.8%).

Among the EU Member States, Eurostat noted, the lowest unemployment rates in August 2018 were recorded in the Czech Republic (2.5%) and in Germany and Poland (both 3.4%).

According to Eurostat, the EU unemployment rate was 6.8% in August, down from 7.5% in August 2017. (ANSA).
