(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The company Porsche AG has announced an investment in the Croatian electric car company Rimac Automobili, by taking a minority shareholding of 10%, Porsche said in a statement today. Rimac develops and produces electric vehicle components and manufactures electric 'super sports cars', Porsche noted, adding that the decision was taken "as part of its electrification efforts", as Porsche is seeking a "development partnership with the young company." Porsche did not disclose the financial terms of the operation.

In a statement, Porsche recalled that Rimac has recently presented the latest version of its electric hypercar, the 'C Two', at the Geneva Motor Show. "By developing the purely electric two-seaters super sports cars, like the 'Concept One' or 'C Two', Rimac has impressively demonstrated its credentials in the field of electromobility", said Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board at Porsche, adding that the German company hopes "to enter into close collaboration" with the Croatian company "in the form of a development partnership." "This partnership now is an important step for Rimac on our way to become a component and system supplier of choice for the industry in electrification, connectivity and the exciting field of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems," said the CEO Mate Rimac, quoted in the Porsche statement.
