(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 6 - Unexpected fall in German industrial
production, which fell 1.6% in February, the sharpest monthly
decline since August 2015. The figure contradicted the
expectations of the economists who predicted an average increase
by 0.2%. On an annual basis, an increase by 2.6% was recorded.
''The growth momentum should be weaker than the previous year'', said the German Economy Ministry in a press release. ''But the positive trend in orders and the positive mood suggest that the trend in manufacturing will continue to spiral upwards''.
