EIF and Unicredit extend support for SMEs to 1 billion

An additional 500m for companies in Central Eastern Europe

(ANSA) - MILAN, JANUARY 15 - The European Investment Fund (EIF) and UniCredit have decided to extend the InnovFin Guarantee for small and medium-sized enterprises, a program that aims to facilitate access to financial sources for SMEs and small businesses-innovative caps in nine countries.

The new agreement will allow UniCredit to offer, through nine banks and six leasing companies in Central Eastern Europe, an additional 500 million in loans to innovative companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. SMEs and mid-cap companies from these countries will have access to a total of 1 billion euros. The operation has the support of Horizon 2020, the EU framework program for research and innovation, and of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).(ANSA).
