Estonia: country best in East Europe in corruption control

Slovenia ranks second, according to World Bank study

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 3 - Estonia ranks at the top in Central- and Eastern Europe in terms of control of corruption, according to a new study of the World Bank (WB), the specialized portal Emerging Europe informed today. The Worldwide Governance Indicator, developed by the World Bank, said that Estonia tops the region with a score of 89.9 percentage point, followed by Slovenia (80.77). Poland (74.52) and the Czech Republic (69.23) made it to the top five in the region, followed by Lithuania (68.75), Slovakia (66.35), Latvia (64.42), Croatia (60.1), Hungary (59.62), Montenegro (58.17) and Romania (52.40). All other countries in the region scored below 50 percentage points, Emerging Europe said. (ANSA).
