(ANSA) - BRNO, MAY 2 - The first international festival focusing
on TV and web series productions in Central and Eastern Europe
starts in Brno: the 'Serial Killer' festival, scheduled from May
2 to 5, will showcase the best of contemporary European and
international TV serial production, such as new Netflix's, HBO's
and Czech Television's releases.
The festival includes an international contest, with films from
Poland, Croatia, Romania, Estonia and Russia, as well as a
category which is dedicated to Czech cinema.
The event also includes the presentation of current trends and
the best examples of television production in Western Europe;
this year's focus is on recent Danish serial production, with
several events. The last three days will be dedicated to
workshops focusing on the professional context: the 'Industry
Days' of the Serial Killer Festival aims to be the first stage
for authors, televisions and productions from east to west and
from north to south, focusing on the future of television, with
several case studies regarding recently released series.
Some important artists from all over the world have already
confirmed their participation in the festival, such as Nik
Powell, founder of the Virgin Records music label, Ben Gibson,
dean of the London Film School, Rod Stoneman, founder of
Britain's Channel 4, Denmark's Mette Damgaard-Sorensen (Artistic
Director of the New Danish Screen). And then, of course, some
artists from the Czech Republic: Ana Geislerova, Petr
Ctvrtnicek, Tomas Baldynsky, among others.(ANSA).
