Eurostat, in Czech Republic highest quarterly GDP growth

Eurozone, GDP up 0.6% in the second quarter

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - The Eurozone's GDP has grown by + 0.6% in the second quarter of 2017, more than the first quarter, when an increase by 0,5% was recorded, Eurostat reported. Eurostat pointed out that on annual basis, or compared with the second quarter of 2016, the growth was 2.3%. In EU-28, GDP grew by 0,7% in the second quarter, whereas annual growth was 2.4%. Taking into account the individual countries, the highest quarterly growth was recorded in the Czech Republic (up 2.5%, up 4.7% year-on-year), whereas Italy (up 0.4% quarter-on-quarter, up 1.5% yoy) was ranked fourth, coming after Portugal and the United Kingdom (up 0.3) and along with Belgium (up 0.4%).
