North Macedonia: Nato accession protocol ratified
The Balkan country is about to become the 30th member state
11 February, 20:55The vote in Skopje was necessary since, ahead of the early elections of April 12, the parliament must be dissolved by February 16. North Macedonia is therefore about to become the 30th member of the Atlantic Alliance.
Among the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Montenegro are already part of it. "Joining Nato does not simply mean joining an international organization, but the most powerful military alliance in the world. It is a privilege, but also a great responsibility," said President Stevo Pendarovski.
Decisive to this step, he underlined, was the peace and reform policy carried out by the country, which normalized relations with neighboring countries, Greece and Bulgaria. (ANSA)
