Croatia: Kitarovic leading the polls, distance is narrowing

Uncertainty grows about presidential elections on December 22

07 December, 17:41
(ANSA) - ZAGREB, DECEMBER 7 - In Croatia, where presidential elections are going to take place on December 22, the gap in the polls between the three main candidates, the outgoing president Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic (supported by the ruling conservative party), the former Social Democratic premier Zoran Milanovic and the singer Miroslav Skoro (populist right-wing party), continues to narrow. According to the last survey released by the local media, Grabar Kitarovic would get 27.4% of the vote, Milanovic 24%, and Skoro 23%. Eleven candidates are running, but only three of them have real chances to go to the possible runoff between the two most voted candidates, scheduled for January 5.

The other eight contenders would not exceed 3% of the vote.
