Bosnia has total control of its airspace

For the first time since the independence in 1992

05 December, 14:27
(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 5 - Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the first time since its independence proclaimed in 1992, took over the full and total control of its airspace since midnight, secured so far by Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. In 2014, the Balkan country - badly hit by the war of 1992-1995 which caused 100,000 deaths and hundreds of thousands of refugees - had taken the first step in this direction by taking control of overflights under 10,000 meters. From midnight the control of the skies also concerns flights over 10,000 meters and will be guaranteed by controllers of the Bosnian Air Navigation Agency (Bhansa). (ANSA)
