Romania: Trasngaz plans to invest 1.9 billion by 2027

For the expansion of the gas distribution network

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 25 - The Romanian natural gas transport operator Transgaz is planning to invest up to 1,9 billion euros in the expansion of its network until 2027, local media reported.

The estimate of investments is included in the Transgaz development plan, which will be submitted for approval to the shareholders on March 11, the specialized portal Romania Insider said, noting that the most important project remain the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria inter-connector (Brua), with the first phase worth 478.6 million, the second 68.8 million, the third 530 million euros.

Other major projects, Romania Insider added, are the development of the Romanian southern transport for the gas from the Black Sea (360 million), the development of the gas transport system in the eastern part of Romania (174 million) and the interconnections with Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Serbia. "By achieving the objectives set out in the 10-year Development Plan 2018-2027, Transgaz wants to become an important natural gas transport operator on the international gas market, with a modernized, intelligent, integrated European transport system," reads the document that will be discussed by the shareholders, the portal reported.
