Bulgaria: GDP growth at 3.6% y/y in first quarter of 2018
Growth driven by domestic demand

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 07 GIU - The Bulgarian economy grew 3.6
per cent year on year in the first quarter of 2018, the
Bulgarian National Institute of Statistics (NSI) said in a
statement today.
The NSI informed that the GDP growth rate was 0,9% in the first quarter of the year compared to the fourth quarter of 2017.
The estimates are in line with the recent forecasts of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which in May increased the forecasts for the the Bulgarian economy from the previous 3.2% to 3.6% in 2018, the same growth rate registered in 2017.
The growth, EBRD noted, will continue to be fueled "by domestic demand." (ANSA).
