(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 02 MAR - The great majority of citizens of
Hungary's neighboring countries has a positive opinion of
Hungary, according to a survey of the Nezopont Institute. The
survey was commissioned by the Charta XXI movement, which
focuses on reconciliation in Central- and Eastern Europe. In
average, 63 percent of interviewees in Poland, the Czech
Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and
Bulgaria has a positive opinion of Hungary. The countries that
have the most positive perception of Hungary are Bulgaria (85%
of positive views), Slovakia (74%), the Czech Republic (73%),
whereas in Romania only 57% of people interviewed for the poll
expressed a positive view of Hungary, 39% a negative one. The
survey revealed also that Hungarians had the most positive view
of neighboring Austria (73%), the least favorable of Ukraine
(23% positive, 43% negative), Serbia (32%) and Romania (35%).
