(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 01 MAR - The Czech Republic recorded the
lowest unemployment rate (2.4%) in the European Union in January
2018, much below the EU average of 7.3%, said today the European
Union's statistics office, Eurostat. Among the EU member
countries in the 'New Europe' area with the lowest unemployment
rate in January, also Hungary (3.8%), Poland (4.5%), Romania
(4.6%), Austria (5.5%), Bulgaria and Slovenia (5.9%). Eurostat
said that Greece (from 23.3% to 20.9% between November 2016 and
November 2017) and Croatia (from 12.2% to 9.8%) were among the
countries that recorded the largest decrease of the unemployment
rate year-on-year. (ANSA).
