(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, APRIL 26 - The CIA deputy director, Vaughn
Bishop, on his unannounced official visit to Bosnia, met today
in Sarajevo with the director of the Intelligence-Security
Agency of Bosnia (OSA), Osman Mehmedbasic, and then the security
minister Dragan Mektic. Bishop should later meet the leaders of
the Bosnian police agencies and the Republika Srpska security
minister Dragan Lukac is also arriving in Sarajevo.
According to media rumors, the talks will mainly focus on the
issue of recent scandals related to unsolved murders. During the
day, traffic in Sarajevo was blocked several times due to the
passage of the US delegation and a greater presence of police
officers is visible in the streets. This is the second important
visit paid to Bosnia by the CIA heads: in 2016 the then director
John O. Brennan arrived in Sarajevo and had a meeting with Osman
Mehmedbasic. (ANSA).
