(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 04 APR - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced the provision of a loan of up to €5 million to MKF Partner, a microfinance institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The loan will support energy efficiency investments in the residential sector.

EBRD said in a statement that the funds will be made available to individuals, associations, producers, service providers, and suppliers and vendors of 'green technologies'. The main aim of the initiative is to increase the "availability of finance to support green economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina." The financing is provided under the EBRD €85 million Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) for the Western Balkans. Since the beginning of EBRD operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bank has invested €2.1 billion in almost 150 projects in the country. (ANSA).
