Migrants: Kurz, Italy's doing well but not enough

"My government will be European"

(ANSA) - ROME - ''My government will be European or will not be. We will use our semester to provide a strong impetus in order to make further reforms in the EU''. As for the relations with far right, ''in the negotiations I will clearly state that the program should express my core values and my European convictions'', said Sebastian Kurz, current Foreign Minister and next Austrian Chancellor, in an interview given to Corriere della Sera.

''I am happy that migration policy has changed and is now going in the right direction in Italy and in the rest of Europe'' he added. ''We have not yet reached the finish line yet, but the overall attitude towards this issue is much more realistic than in 2015. The key point is that illegal migrants do not have to come to the EU. Until we are able to prevent them from coming, Europe without internal borders will be in danger''. Speaking about Italy, ''we have good relations, we are close to each other and we do cooperate well in the EU'', said Kurz. (ANSA).
