WHO, pollution in Tirana is 60% higher than permitted levels

(ANSA) – TIRANA - In the capital of Albania, Tirana, air is 60% more polluted than the levels set out by the World Health Organization. This has been confirmed by the organization in question in its latest report on the quality of air.

According to this organization, in Albania 16 people have died due to air pollution. According to the report, the quality of air causes heart diseases and leads to death. The report also states that the number of deaths among children caused by air pollution in 2017 was 10.

The report also adds that more than 80% of people who live in urban areas, are exposed to high levels of air pollution.
