(ANSA) - Rome, March 26 - European golfers have defeated US
rivals with three consecutive victories on the PGA Tour this
season for the first time since 2010.
The first European winner was Italy's Francesco Molinari at
the Arnold Palmer Invitational, followed by Rory McIlroy at
''The Players Championship'' and Paul Casey, who became the
first back-to-back winner of the ''Valspar Championship''.
Europe's triumph over the US in the Ryder Cup (17.5 - 10.5)
was no coincidence with the European team delivering a stunning
victory over their powerful American rivals.
And if the US is holding on to its world leadership with
Dustin Johnson, Europe is already eyeing the next challenge -
the 2020 Ryder Cup in Wisconsin.
