(ANSA) - Rome, February 8 - The Italian Pro Tour 2019 is
scheduled to begin in April with an eye on the 2022 Ryder Cup
project.
The 13th edition of the national and international golf
circuit organized by the Italian Golf Federation will be held
across Italy with the objective of promoting the history and
culture of different territories, as well as sport.
Nine events will be held in the regions of Valle d'Aosta,
Friuli Venezia Giulia, Abruzzo Lazio and Puglia.
The season will open on April 12-13 with a new edition for
women, the ''National Championship Open Dailies Total 1'' at the
National Golf in Sutri, close to the Lazio city of Viterbo.
Top professional players, together with the best Italian
amateur players, will vie to win for the first time the title of
the Italian women's champion.
Another initiative promoted by the Italian Golf Federation
called ''Golf è donna'' (Golf is women) will be launched in
2019.
And the Italian Pro Tour Banca Generali Private will attract
on the green the best talents of the Challenge Tour (Italian
Challenge Open - Terre dei Consoli GC, on June 27-30).
In addition, champions over 50 will take part in the Staysure
Tour (Senior Italian Open - GC Udine, May 30-June 1) while young
up-and-coming players will compete in the Alps Tour during this
all-Italian year.
