The father of Giulio Regeni, the
Italian student tortured to death in Egypt in early 2016, on
Sunday said he wanted Cairo Chief Prosecutor Nabil Ahmed Sadek
to keep a December 2016 promise to the family to apprehend the
culprits.
"From man to man, from father to father, I ask him to respect
that promise and to meet us again in Rome," Claudio Regeni said
on the Che Tempo Che Fa TV show.
He also appealed to be given back the clothes Regeni was
wearing when he was abducted, tortured and murdered.
Rome prosecutors have put several members of the Egyptian
security apparatus under investigation in the case but bilateral
cooperation has ground to a halt.
