It is "irresponsible" not to
complete the high-speed rail (TAV) line between Turin and Lyon,
European Parliament President and centre-right Forza Italia (FI)
deputy head Antonio Tajani said Thursday.
"Not to (complete) it means increasing CO2 emissions, it
means damaging the health of the inhabitants of the Po valley,"
he said.
"Not (completing) it means isolating Piedmont and the Po
valley from the rest of Europe, it means losing hundreds and
hundreds of jobs of the workers digging the tunnel and who have
already travelled several kilometres, it means blocking the
country."
