Piedmont on Friday became the
first region in Italy to appeal to the Constitutional Court
against the government's migrant and security decree, Governor
Sergio Chiamparino announced on the sidelines of a meeting on
the high-speed TAV rail line promoted by labor union CISL in
Turin.
The appeal against the decree, drafted by Deputy Premier and
Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, was sent by Immigration
Councilor Monica Cerutti, Chiamparino said.
"The decree risks creating a world of invisibles, of people
who can't, are unable to integrate and for this reason are at
the mercy of those violating rules", the governor said.
