The body of a young woman found
in the Tor Sapienza area of Rome early Friday is that of a
20-year-old Chinese student Zhang Yao Natain, who disappeared in
the area Monday, police said after the body was ID'd. She is
believed to have been run over by a train while chasing thieves
who stole her bag, they said. Zhang came to Rome to frequent the
Fine Arts Academy (Accademia dele Belle Arti) and went missing
after going to Rome's immigration office to get her student's
residency permit. Initially police suspected a kidnapping for
ransom. Police said they had received a report overnight that
there was a body lying in a bush near the railway lines.
