Two Italian correspondents
working on an investigative report on child prostitution in the
city of Marrakech were deported from Morocco early on Thursday.
Journalist Luigi Pelazza and cameraman Mauro Pilai work for
a satirical TV show that specialises in stings called Le Iene
(Reservoir Dogs), and had been arrived in Morocco on Monday.
They were filming in a Marrakech flat when a dozen
policemen detained them, seized their equipment, material and
cell phones, denied them contact with the Italian embassy for
several hours, and escorted them to the airport, where they
spent the night before being put on the earliest plane back to
Italy this morning.
