Premier and Democratic Party (PD)
leader Matteo Renzi said Wednesday his government would not
comment on a row over PD member of the Supreme Council of
Magistrates (CSM) questioning a probe in Lodi that has led to
the arrest for suspected bid-rigging on municipal swimming pools
of former mayor Simone Uggetti. "There are rules of the game to
be respected" said Renzi, who said his position respecting the
judiciary and hoping for swift trials "has not changed".
Uggetti, a PD member who stepped down as mayor and has now
suspended himself from the party, is under investigation with a
lawyer and a businessman.
