Catholic charity Aid to the Church
in Need (ACN) will bring 3,000 young Egyptian Christians to see
Pope Francis during his Cairo trip on April 28-29, the
pontifical association said Tuesday.
"Now more than ever it is essential to give young Egyptians
reasons for living and hoping" after the bloody Palm Sunday
attacks on Copts, Father Hani Bakhoum Kiroulos, secretary to
Coptic Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak, said in thanking the ACN.
"The young are the future of the persecuted Church," said
ACN-Italy chief Alessandro Monteduro, and "we need to bring hope
after the horror of the attacks".
