Pope Francis in his
weekly general audience Wednesday advocated for wealth
redistribution and said "if the Jubilee doesn't reach pockets,
it's not a true Jubilee".
"And this is in the Bible, this pope isn't inventing it,
no, it's in the Bible," Pope Francis said.
"How beautiful it would be if freedom, land and money were
to again become assets for all and not only some as it happens
now," he said, adding that "more or less, eighty percent of the
wealth of humanity is in the hands of less than twenty percent
of the people.
"This is a Jubilee to convert oneself, so our heart becomes
larger and more generous".
