Pope signs flag heading for prison tour

Francis also received another flag signed by inmates

(ANSA) - Vatican City, January 27 - Pope Francis signed a flag on Wednesday that will now pass through several Italian prisons to gather inmates' signatures before being presented to the pope again on November 6, on the Jubilee day dedicated to prisons.
A flag with the signatures of prison inmates in Venice, Turin and Pontremoli was also presented to the pope, as well as a CD recorded by a prison choir, newspaper L'Osservatore Romano reported.
The initiative was organised by Juri Nervo, founder of the Eremo del Silenzio prayer centre in a former Turin jail, which has turned prison cells into prayer rooms.
