Pope Francis
said on his way back from the Central African Republic (CAR) on
Monday that he was struck by the "desire for peace,
reconciliation, for forgiveness" in the war-torn country. "Up
until eight years ago they lived like brothers - Catholics,
Muslims, Protestants," Francis said. He added he thought Kenya
was "a little more modern" and that Uganda struck him for its
veneration of the martyred saints. "Both Catholics and Anglicans
venerate the martyrs, this is the Ugandans' calling card".
