(ANSA) - Naples, September 5 - The commissioning body for the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples has given the go-ahead for restructuring works of the sports facilities of Parco Virgiliano and the San Pietro a Patierno stadium, both in Naples. The Parco Virgiliano sports center, in the Neapolitian district of Posillipo, will undergo work on the sports track, which will be used during the Universiade for track and field events. The Virgiliano will also be fitted out with a new lighting system, fence and changing rooms with showers and toilets. The works will cost 625,000 euros. The renovation of the municipal stadium in the San Pietro a Patierno area calls for the rehabilitation of the synthetic turf field, changing rooms and lighting system. The stadium will be used for football training and the works will cost 774,000 euros. The work towards the 2019 Universiade is thus moving forward well and the commissioning body has said that other contracts will be assigned this week.
