Some of Italy's stars from the Tokyo
Olympics are set to take centre stage at Expo 2020 Dubai thanks
to a two-day event devoted to sport and young people at the
Italy pavilion on Friday and Saturday.
The Amphitheatre of the Italy Pavilion will host 'Dialogue with
the Medallists of the Italia Team', which won a record haul of
40 medals in Japan this summer.
Marco Di Costanzo and Abraham Conyedo Ruano, bronze medallists
in the coxless four rowing and freestyle wrestling
respectively, and weight-lifting silver medallist Giorgia
Bordignon will tell their stories and talk about the value of
sport as a channel for cultural exchange and an instrument of
informal diplomacy.
Furthermore, Italian athletes and coaches will also conduct
sessions for children aged between five and 14 at the Expo Sport
Fitness and Hub Village.
The event is only part of a series of activities that the Italy
Pavilion is co-organizing with the Italian National Olympic
Committee (CONI) throughout the six-month World Fair.
