Some 15 Genoa ultras were placed
under investigation Thursday for allegedly extorting money from
club Chairman Enrico Preziosi.
The hardcore fans are suspected of conspiracy, extortion,
private violence and fraudulent possession of goods, police
said.
They allegedly extorted cash and assets from Preziosi, 72, a
toy and games entrepreneur.
The probe spans the years from 2005 to today, police said.
The investigation has uncovered episodes of violence, both
physical and psychological, inside and outside the stadium,
towards players, some other fans, and club staff, police said.
