Francesco Molinari on Wednesday
received the Italian Olympic Committee's Golden Collar for
outstanding achievement after becoming the first Italian to win
a major at the Open and the first European to win all five of
his Ryder Cup matches.
"I'm over the moon," said Molinari who added that it would be
"brilliant" to compete in the 2022 Ryder Cup, the first to be
staged in Italy.
He also said he was hoping to win the Olympic gold at Tokyo
2020.
Molinari's feats, which also included winning the Race to
Dubai to win the European Tour, were spotlighted in ANSA's Photo
Book of the year.
