Benevento, which has set a
Serie A record by losing all nine of its opening games, on
Monday sacked Marco Baroni after a 3-0 home rout to Fiorentina
and replaced him with former Palermo manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Baroni had led Benevento to promotion from Serie B last
season.
Baroni is the second coach to be sacked in Serie A this
season.
On October 18 Serie A strugglers Cagliari named former player
Diego Lopez as their new coach after sacking Massimo Rastelli
the previous day.
Lopez, a solid defender nicknamed El Jefe (the boss), made
342 appearances for the Sardinia side between 1998 and 2010.
The 43-year-old former Uruguay international has signed a
contract running until June 2019.
He previously coached Bologna and had a brief stint in charge
of relegation-bound Palermo last season.
Cagliari sacked Rastelli after four straight defeats in Serie
A.
Cagliari are 16thbin Serie A on six points from nine games,
having lost 3-0 at Lazio on Sunday.
