UEFA Champions League official bank
UniCredit organised a two-a-side mini soccer match on Friday
featuring retired former Juventus teammates Gianluca Zambrotta
and David Trezeguet atop the 152-metre-high UniCredit Tower, as
part of its "Tower Match" initiative for the UEFA Champions
League final on Saturday.
UniCredit allowed fans to book online tickets for their own
soccer matches atop the skyscraper.
UniCredit brand management director Silvio Santini said
that 4,500 people requested to play, and over 400 people and
more than 68 teams played over the course of three days.
Santini said UniCredit's sponsorship of the Champions
League is "a tool both for business and to involve fans and bank
clients".
"In seven years we've sold more than 1.5 million in
products" tied to the event, he said.
Saturday's CL final in Milan will pit Madrid teams Real and
Atletico against each other.
