Major League Soccer stars Andrea
Pirlo and Sebastian Giovinco were both left out of a four-day
pre-Euro 2016 training camp announced by Italy coach Antonio
Conte Monday.
The Milan and Juventus players involved in the Italian Cup
final Saturday were omitted apart from Leonardo Bonucci, who is
disqualified - but Juve said they would not cede the player in
any case, sparking a row with Conte.
Daniele De Rossi makes his return to the Azzurri set-up for
the May 18-21 camp.
There are seven new faces: Tonelli, Pavoletti, Zappacosta,
Benassi, Sportiello, Izzo and Cataldi.
On Monday May 23 Conte will announce the group for a second
12-day training camp starting the following day at Coverciano.
This warm-up session will include friendlies against
Scotland in Malta on May 29 and against Finland in Verona on
June 6, the last test before flying to Montpellier June 8.
Italy play Belgium, Ireland and Sweden in the group stage
