Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol was quoted as saying by Italian media on Monday that he will arrive in Italy this weekend and is confident of "signing and closing" an agreement to buy a stake in Serie A giants AC Milan from Silvio Berlusconi's Fininvest holding company on Sunday. The magnate, who has been nicknamed 'Mr Bee', is expected to acquire an initial 20% of the seven-time European champions, with a view of taking up a controlling 65% stake next year.
Taechaubol met Berlusconi earlier this year, but Fininvest denied media reports that the ex-premier had agreed to sell a controlling stake in the club to him. Another consortium formed by Chinese investors has also reportedly been in talks to take over Milan.
