Valentino Rossi said he was
aiming for a top-three finish this season at Wednesday's
presentation of his team's new race bike, the Yamaha M1.
The nine-time world champion bounced back last season,
coming second to 21-year-old Spanish ace Marc Marquez, after
several disappointing campaigns, including two winless years at
Ducati.
"My aim for the season that's about to start is to fight
among the first three positions," said the 35-year-old.
"I need to take a further step forward to be able to think
about winning the championship and being continually at the same
level as Marquez and (teammate Jorge) Lorenzo throughout the
season".
