AS Roma and AC Milan have agreed
terms for the transfer of Mattia Destro from Rome to Milan,
sources at the Rossoneri said Tuesday.
An OK from the striker is all that is needed to seal the
deal, they said.
Destro, who had been linked to a 20-million-pound move to
Arsenal or Spurs, will beef up a Milan attack that could be
without the injured Stephan El Shaarawy for the rest of the
season.
Silvio Berlusconi's club desperately need fire power up
front as they seek to lift themselves out of a dry spell that
sees them languishing in eighth place with coach Pippo Inzaghi's
job on the line.
Destro, 23, has scored 23 goals in 52 appearances for Roma
since 2012.
He has eight Italy caps and one goal for his country.
Milan are also looking to reinforce their back line, with
centre back Philippe Mexes out for four games after grabbing
Lazio captain Stefano Mauri's throat during the 3-1 defeat at
the Olimpico where El Shaarawy broke his foot Saturday.
Spartak Moscow's former Genoa centre half Salvatore
Bocchetti is reportedly on the way to Milan.
