The Interior Ministry said
Friday that fans of Bergamo side Atalanta have been banned from
attending away games in Serie A for three months.
The ban is punishment for trouble that occurred after
Atalanta's 2-1 home defeat to second-place AS Roma last weekend.
The ministry said six police offices were injured in
clashes and several vehicles damaged.
It is the first time such as ban has been imposed since
the introduction of Interior Minister Angelino Alfano's new law
toughening up measures to prevent hooliganism in Italian
football in August.
