AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia said
Friday that he was confident Brazilian defender Leandro Castán
will make a full recovery after brain surgery.
The Roman club, currently second in Serie A and three
points behind leaders Juventus, said Thursday that the
28-year-old needed surgery on a cavernoma - a cluster of
abnormal blood vessels that puts pressure on the brain.
Castán, who has made two appearances for Brazil, has not
played since a 1-0 win at Empoli in September, when he was
substituted after complaining of dizziness.
"We're all with Leo," Garcia said.
"After the operation at the start of December, he'll be
able to come back and play with Roma.
"We need to give him time to recover, but he's a warrior
and will come back stronger than ever - 200%.
"He's very calm and can't wait to overcome this problem".
