It will take up to three years for Formula One great Michael Schumacher to fully recover from last December's skiing accident head injury that put him into a six-month coma, one of the doctors who treated him in hospital told French radio Thursday.
"Life after a head injury is marked by various steps," Jean-Francois Payen told RTL France.
"We are hopeful, but we have to give him time".
Payen helped Schumacher pull out of the coma in Grenoble Hospital after he hit his head on a rock while skiing at Meribel in the French Alps on December 29 last year.
The seven-time F1 champ, 45, is being helped by a team of rehabilitation specialists at his home in Gland, Switzerland.
