Italy recycled 44% of its urban
trash last year, up 3% on the previous year, according to a
report released Wednesday by the Fondazione per lo Sviluppo
Sostenibile (Sustainable Development Foundation) and the Fise
Unicircular body of circular-economy firms.
The report said residents separated 55% of their refuse for
recycling, although not all this trash can actually be recycled.
