Mestre is anxiously awaiting this year's edition of the Festival Show concert tour, sponsored by Radio Birikina and Radio Bella & Monella, scheduled for Friday, August 23 on stage in Piazza Ferretto. The lineup includes Dolcenera, Fausto Leali, Anna Tatangelo, Ivana Spagna, Lo Stato Sociale, Enrico Nigiotti and Alberto Russo. The event has become an annual tradition in Mestre, organised in collaboration with Vela Spa. The stage for the festival, which gets set up in record time, allows for thousands of people to enjoy music in Piazza Ferretto. The concert is also economically important for the city, with businesses and shops staying open late. This year's host is Anna Safroncik, and other performers include the young artists Benedetta Catenacci, Daniele Pollina and Francesco Correr in a competition organised by Radio Birikina and Radio Bella & Monella, which this year are celebrating their 20th anniversary. The pre-show starts at 8 p.m. with a fashion show of representatives from the brand "Amen" who will compete to win the title of "Most Beautiful of the Tour". During the afternoon, Hoara Borselli will host live on Radio Bella & Monella, broadcasting artist rehearsals. Venice Councillor for Social Cohesion Simone Venturini said the annual Festival Show has become a highly anticipated event in Mestre, "thanks to this administration and Mayor Luigi Brugnaro". "It's a show that is able to satisfy the musical tastes of the young and not-so-young, of teens and families, giving the city's residents and visitors an evening of celebration and fun," Venturini said. "It's the icing on the cake of summer events in Venice, which this year were widespread and demonstrated exceptional vitality, involving tens of thousands of people in the historic centre, on land and on the islands. Cinema, theatre, entertainment and a lot of music were the ingredients of summer in the city. We are certain that this year's Festival show will enthusiastically involve us all," Venturini said. Tour coordinator Paolo Baruzzo said the tour is happy to return to Mestre, "thanks to the dedicated effort of the city administration, which faithfully puts this important event on its summer event calendar". "Festival Show is definitely a great promotional event for Piazza Ferretto and a great opportunity for entertainment and togetherness for the public," Baruzzo said. "The largest stage of the year will be set up in the square, for a show that continues to be successful at every stop and that in Mestre, given the notable artistic cast, will attract a large audience," he said.
